This is a simple (real) example how to measure ROI of social media (you can make it as complex as you want however). Each slice refers to a goal set (the information attached to a section reveals the goal’s setting and progress). The size of a goal’s slice represents its importance relative to its neighbors (subgoals of the same parent), according to its contribution to its parent. Goalscape is used to track progress (percentage complete) at any level of detail, InComing, Google Analytics and the website statistics software provide the data for the Goalscape diagram.
So don’t accept it when a “social media expert” tells you that asking for ROI is like asking what is the ROI of your telephone.
