Is the paper book dead? Not if the book has a brilliant idea (Black Swan, Taleb), is beautifully designed (Laura, Nabokov), has die-cuts on every page and is sculptured from another book (Tree of Codes, Foer), connects dead content through QR-codes with updatable source (I live in the future, Bilton), is a book about cigarettes packaged in a cigarette box and has great stories as well (Ten stories about smoking, Evers), is pure fun (What every man thinks about apart from sex, Simove), is a complete new format (A contract with god, Eisner) or is a true multimedia project (A Bob Dylan scrapbook, Price). And you know what? They’re all bestsellers.
